Bruins Win Game 2 of Stanley Cup Finals: Yipee Paille Motherf#@ker!!

paille

Danielle Paille scores OT game winning goal in game 2 and Hawks fans can't watch.

The first 2 games of the Stanley Cup finals have been as close as any series you will ever see. Its been a see saw with each team dominating parts of the series. The Blackhawks have been especially dominant in the first half of the first period, and the Bruins have had the upper hand during the 4 OT periods.

A few obervations:

  • The puck has not bounced the Bruins way much in the series so far. Lots of pucks bouncing away from them in front of the net and hitting a couple of posts on the inside and not getting the bounce. But they got a huge in Game 2 when a something that looked like it was a goal, was not called a goal. Two possible explanations: The whistle was blown before it crossed, or they couldn't tell from the video if it fully cross the line. HUGE BREAK.
  • Chara has been immense. He played 48 minutes in the first game, 33 in the 2nd. He looked very slow in the 2nd game. Hopefully he'll be back at full speed for game 3.
  • I love the line of Seguin, Paille, and Kelly. Peverly has been pretty terrible this postseason, Julien put his 3 best bottom 6 forwards on teh 3rd line and they scored both goals in game 2. Seguin has looked much better the last 2 games.
  • Lucic has been an unbelievable force forechecking, hitting, and scoring. Wow. Just fantastic stuff from him.
  • Tuukka has been a vacuum again. For the most part. He hasn't been giving up many rebounds at all. That's a big difference between him and Crawford right now.
  • For most of the series, the Bruins D is doing a good job at keeping the Blackhawks offensive to the outside. There's been a few breakdowns, but alot of the shots Chicago is ringing up are from out side on one of the wings.
  • Chris Kelly looks like a boss in the Player of the Game Ranger jacket.
