Fantastic real world sci-fi. A comet is spotted and nobody is sure if it will hit the earth. It doesn't loook like it. The book is set in 1977. Once the comet does hit several threads are followed of how people survive. Great stuff. Not much science, but plenty of interesting stories an drama takes place as folks follow different paths to survival.
