Video: Each of the Red Sox Biggest Hits on their World Series Run

This Red Sox postseason had some of the most memorable hits I've ever seen. It was often from guys that had done nothing up that point.

Here's videos capturing those moments.

ALCS – Game 2 – Papi's 8th Inning Grand Slam To Tie the Game

This is the biggest hit I've ever seen that wasn't a walk off. The Sox offense was virtually nonexsistent. They were down 5-1 in the game and if they didn't turn this game around they were down in the seires 2-0 heading to Detroit to face Verlander. They get luck enough to load the bases in the 8th with 2 out and Ortiz steps up. This was 1 of the 2 hits Papi had in the series.

ALCS – Game 3 – Napoli's Solo Shot off Verlander in the 7th Inning, Sox Win 1-0

Again… virtually no offense from the Sox in this game against Verlander, then BOOM. Napoli comes through after not having a hit in the series previously and Lackey and the bullpen shut down the Tigers.

ALCS – Game 6 – Victorino's 7th Inning Grand Slam

Victorino had looked terrible at the plate in the series up to this point. The Sox were down 2-1 in the 7th inning, but got the bases loaded with 2 outs and Victorino stepped up to the plage without a hit yet in the series. Boom!

World Series – Game 4 – Johnny Gomes' 3 Run Homerun

This was the biggest hit of the World Series. The Sox had lost Game 3 on the obstruction call and it felt like things could be slipping away. It was a 1-1 when Gomes stepped up with 2 outs in the 6th. Boom! The Red Sox were a different team offensively after this.

World Series – Game 5 – Ross' 7th Inning Double Gives the Sox the Lead

Ross, who had gotten a couple of big hits in the Detroit series but had not had a hit in the World Series, came up in the 7th inning of a tie game with 2 on and 2 out. He hadn't done much in the World Series. Wainwright was getting tired, and as curveball pitchers often do, he hung a curve with a tired arm and Ross hit a double into the corner that scored Bogaerts. An Ellsbury single followed scoring Drew which gave the Sox a 3-1 lead that would hold up.

World Series – Game 6 – Victorino's 3 Run Double

Victorino had missed the previous 2 games with a bad back. He was facing the rookie sensation Michael Wacca with the bases loaded and 2 out. Yes. Another Game 6 with the bases loaded for Victorino. He hit a shot to left that was high off the wall and Gomes beat out a close play at the plate to give the Sox a 3-0 lead in the 3rd which felt like a 10 run lead. That was it. And this was the 3rd series that Victorino knocked in the go ahead run in the series clincher.
