A year ago I switched to Verizon FIOS for the first time. It had some good points and some bad points. I recently switched back to Comcast because they gave me a great deal and I like Comcast a little more right now because of their larger selection of OnDemand offerings.
But I really, really missed on thing Verizon had, and that was the 30 second fast forwarding when using the DVR remote control. Once you start using that feature, you become addicted to it almost quickly. It changes the way you watch shows, skip through commercials, and especially watching sporting events.
It took me a few minutes, but I found a great guide to program the Comcast remote so that it has the 30 second fast forwarding function.
