Here’s How to Get Ready for Season 4 of Arrested Development On Netflix

I was a big fan of the show when it was and decided it to rewatch it over the last few months to remember what I enjoyed about it and figure out where it left off. It was great.

Season 4 is released all at once on May 26th on Netflix. Here's a little bit of info on what you can expect in the new season.

Here's a little bit of background on the show, then some high points, and a summary of where we left off with the Bluth family. Enjoy!

3 Seasons and 6 Emmy Wins, but Low Ratings

There were 53 episodes in the 3 season run on Fox
First episode: November 2, 2003
Last episode: February 10, 2006 (show canceled in the middle of season 3)
It was nominated for 22 Emmy awards and won 6 of them including Outstanding Comedy Series for its first season.
Even though it was the Comedy Emmy in its first season, the show came in as 120th most popular show. Those bad ratings continued despite great word of mouth and some unique marketing campaigns.
After the show was canceled on Fox during season 3, Showtime picked up the rights but the show's creator Michael Hurtwitz declined to move it saying that the actors, and the story was ready to move on.
In 2007, the show was listed as one of Time magazine's "100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME".

Where Season 3 Left Off

Here's a quick run down on where season 3 ended:

Maebe was fired from her movie executive job because George Michael sent "16th Birthday" party invites to people in her addres book… who worked at the studio. The good news is, her story of being a studio exec is so interesting, they want to make a movie out of it!
Maebe and George Michael thought they were drunk on Maebe's birthday, and also thought they weren't real cousins, so they went to 2nd base. They found out later that they are cousins. Awkward! George Michael told his father about the kissing.
Lindsay found out that she is 5 years older than she thought and that she was adopted. She is not Michael's biological sister.
Since Lindsay is adopted, that makes it OK for George Michael and Maebe to date! But Michael still doesn't want them to date.
The endless imprisonment/home lock in of George Sr ended when he was found out not to be a traitor, but a patsy who was being used by the CIA to setup eaves dropping recordings in the houses he was building in Iraq.
Tobias has recovered from his horrible hair transplant and he and Lindsay end the series looking at each other with loving eyes while there are 5 "Hot Cops" dressed as "Hot Seamen" (that's what Tobias called them) between them. But a few moments before that Lindsay declared that she was going to marry her non-biological brother Michael. Michaeld wasn't interested.
Gob is dating George Michael's ex-girlfriend Ann. Yes, her.
In the last few moments of the series, this is what happened:
- There was a party on a ship celebrating Michael officially becoming CEO after all the charges against his dad were dropped.
- George Michael was missing. He had taken Gob's yacht and was sailing away.
- Michael realizes George Michael is sailing away so he gets in a boat to catch him. Which he does.
- Boats full of SEC officials were showing up. Lucille was their target as she was pulling the strings the whole time.
- Annyong shows up and it was he who had turned her in. His real name is "Hello"
- Lucille starts up the boat the party is on and makes a run for it. That's the last we hear of that.
- Michael, now on the yacht with George Michael, decides that instead of heading back to thelp the family that they should make a run of it to Cabo.
- On the first night sleeping in the yacht, George Sr. shows up in Michael's bed. He was hiding on the yacht.
